A Big Night for a Big Cause
MAY 19,2025 – PORTLAND, OREGON
Story by Jessalyne Dixon

This weekend Laura Pifer attended Project48’s Impact Night at Castaway, representing the Portland Relocation Council (PRC).
The evening had it all: a lively auction, great food and drinks, and a real tear-jerker of a video that reminded everyone why this work matters so much.

Two women bravely shared their foster care stories and the role Project 48 played in helping them feel seen, safe, and supported. Their stories were so moving, the whole room was on their feet. They were presented with the Tenacity Award and a scholarship, and it was truly unforgettable.
It was a beautiful night of community, generosity, and purpose. We’re proud to sponsor PRC, where Laura serves as Social Responsibility Chair, and even prouder to be a small part of big impact.
Project 48 provides essentials like clothes and hygiene kits to youth entering foster care within the first 48 hours—along with something just as important: a sense of dignity. They’re committed to making every young person feel empowered, accepted, and loved. For teens aging out of the system, they offer mentorship and life skills to help them confidently step into adulthood.
